Description

The Mountain Mead meadery (Medd Mynydd in Welsh) selects honeys and ingredients that add something to the flavour without overcomplicating things, producing some amazingly delicate meads. While the sweetness can vary from “dessert wine” up to and including “dry white”, all are light and smooth. Carefully balanced, these meads provide just the right blend of sweetness, aroma and acidity to be served as a light wine.

Fermented with cherry juice and caramelised honey, this mead is surprisingly light. The gentle berry tartness that is present at the start is balanced by a smooth and rounded honey finish that nevertheless still manages to sit lightly on the tongue. Decidedly versatile, this mead can be enjoyed at room temperature or chilled for a fresher drink. The flavours are also strong enough to shine through in long drinks made by mixing with tonic or soda water.
